The practical answer

Wet weather does not have to end a Winchester day. The Theatre Royal and The Arc are fully indoor and a short walk down Jewry Street from the station and city car parks. Winchester Science Centre and the Bar End leisure park are mostly indoor and need a car — each has its own parking. Marwell Zoo and the Watercress Line are mostly outdoor: save them for light-rain days, and the parking and station details are on every listing.
